Neutrophil Phagocytosis:
Vetvicka (2013) tested phagocytosis by peripheral blood neutrophils in female mice
Moncyte or Granulocyte Phagocytosis:
Note: Fair (2013) tested phagocytosis of Staphylococcus aureus by monocytes and granulocytes in peripheral blood samples of wild dolphins and examined the results with age-adjusted linear regression with concentrations of PFOA, PFOS, or other PFCs. Regression data with PFOA and PFOS are listed below
PFOA:
PFOS: Vetvicka (2013) tested phagocytosis by peripheral blood neutrophils in female mice
PFOA:
- Granulocyte phagocytosis not significant associated with PFOA in males, females, or combined.
- Monocyte phagocytosis not significantly associated with PFOA in males, females, or combined.
- Granulocyte phagocytosis r2 = +0.20 male/female combined(p<0.05); r2 = +0.68 females (p<0.01); males not significantly associated with PFOS
- Monocyte phagocytosis not significantly associated with PFOS in males, females, or combined.
