Lymphoproliferation - LPS

Lymphocyte mitogen-induced proliferation (LPS)  (PFOA or PFOS):
  • Note: Peden-Adams (2009) reported no effect of PFOS (1-4.6mg/kg) in ovo on chickens on LPS proliferation of splenocytes (data not shown)
  • Note: Peden-Adams (2009) reported no effect of PFOS (1-4.6mg/kg) in ovo on chickens on LPS proliferation of thymocytes(data not shown)
  • Note: Lefebvre (2008) reported no effect of PFOS (2-100mg/kg) in diet on male and female rats LPS proliferation of splenocytes (data not shown)
  • Note: Yang 2006 not included, data appear to be same as data published in Yang 2002b
  • Note: Fair (2013) evaluated ConA and LPS induced lymphocyte proliferation in wild caught dolphins and performed linear regression by PFOA and PFOS concentrations. Neither PFOA or PFOS was associated with ConA proliferation. PFOS was associated with LPS-induced proliferation (r2=+0.27 p<0.01 males; r2=+0.22 p<0.05 both sexes).
