Figure D30: Hypersensitivity - Specific IgE
Antigen-specific IgE response
- Fairley (2007) directly tested hypersensitivity response following 4-day dermal exposure to PFOS, including several measures of OVA-induced hypersensitivity.
- OVA-specific IgE was reported increased after 14 days of observation at doses of 0.75 and 1 mg/kg-day
- OVA-specific IgE was not changed after 27 days of observation
- Dong (2011) examined several immunoglobulin (IgM, IgG, and IgE) after SRBC challenge and reported SRBC-specific IgE was increased at the high dose (0.833 mg PFOS /kg-day) in adult male mice treated for 60 days
- Black Line separate PFOA top and PFOS bottom
- Red symbols are reported as statistically significant
