Delayed-Type Hypersensitivity (DTH) (PFOA and PFOS)

Delayed-Type Hypersensitivity [DTH] (PFOA and PFOS):
PFOA:
  • Note: DeWitt (2008) report no effect of PFOA exposure (up to 30 mg/kg via gavage) for 10 days on DTH response to BSA in Freund's complete adjuvant in female mice (data not shown in original publication).
  • Smits (2013) data [green] from quail.
  • No mammalian PFOA data reported other than DeWitt (2008) report of no effect in mice.
PFOS:
  • Note: Lefebvre (2008) report no effect of PFOS exposure (2-100 mg/kg diet) for 28 days on DTH response to KLH in male of female rats (data not shown in original publication).
  • Peden-Adams (2009) data show significant trend (p<0.05) for decreasing relationship with increasing PFOS dose.
  • Peden-Adams (2009) data [green] from chicken; other PFOS data from rodents [Dong (2011) mice; Lefebvre (2008) rats].
  • Peden-Adams (2009) data from developmental exposure; all other studies from adult exposures.
DISPLAY NOTES
  • Black Line separate PFOA top and PFOS bottom
  • Red symbols are reported as statistically significant
