Immunoglobulin levels: Total IgE
- Note: Wantanabe (2010) measured serum IgE in wild pigs at a reference and dumping site with PFOS and other contaminants including PCBS. IgE concentrations were below the limit of detection at the contaminated site (data not shown in original reference).
- Note: Lefebvre (2008) reported that total serum levels of IgE (data not shown in original reference) were not effected by 0.15 to 6.24 mg/kg-day PFOS via diet for 28 days in rats.
- Note: Dong (2011) did not test total IgE, but did examine SRBC-specific IgE which was increased at the high dose (0.833 mg PFOS /kg-day) in adult male mice treated for 60 days.
