Since Day 7 of pregnancy, female rats were dosed with water containing different levels of sodium fluoride (control group: 0 mg/L; low fluoride group: 2.5 mg/L; medium fluoride group: 5.0 mg/L; high fluoride group: 10.0 mg/L) until the birth of offspring. Twelve ICR rats (eight males, 4 females), weighting between 18 and 22g, were provided by Jinhua Institute for Drug Control for the experiment. The selected rats were randomly divided into four groups with one female and two males per group. Rats within each group were placed into the same cage for reproduction and had access to fluoride free food and water without restrictions. |
