Timed pregnant day1 female Wistar rats and standard pellet diet were procured from National Centre for Laboratory Animal Sciences (NCLAS), National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), Jamia Osmania, Hyderabad 500007, India. Departmental animal ethical committee, CPCSEA No: 383/01/a/CPCSEA. The rats were accommodated in polypropylene cages and temperature maintained at 24 ± 2 ◦C on a 12 h light/dark cycle and water was supplied until they are sacrificed. Pregnant Wistar rats aged 120–160 days weighing 190–200 gm were chosen for the studies and divided into two groups.
